Banners on the Terrace
We have done a lot of great work for the City of Armadale over the years, so were very honored to represent the City in designing their entry for the annual Banners on the Terrace competition.
Each WA City and Shire has a banner on St Georges Terrace for the month of August. This year's theme was Future Focus.
You can read more about our entry here.
One man, 100,000 toothpicks
Scott Weaver has spent 35 years developing this complex, kinetic sculpture based on San Francisco. He continues to modify and expand Rolling through the Bay even today. The elaborate sculpture is comprised of multiple “tours” that move pingpong balls through neighborhoods, historical locations, and iconic sights from the city on the bay.
"I have used different brands of toothpicks depending on what I am building. I also have many friends and family members that collect toothpicks in their travels for me. For example, some of the trees in Golden Gate Park are made from toothpicks from Kenya, Morocco, Spain, West Germany and Italy. The heart inside the Palace of Fine Arts is made out of toothpicks people threw at our wedding."
Transportable
How's this for a holiday home?
The Whangapoua Sled House is a clever little portable beach hut designed by Crosson Clarke Carnachan Architects. The hut is situated on the shore of an idyllic white sanded beach in New Zealand’s Coromandel Peninsula

Site Upgrade
Hi, we're just doing a bit of housework about the Blackrooke site but we'll be back online with our brand spanking new face in a few days.
In the meantime, feel free to contact us with any enquiries you may have.
Thanks,
The Blackrooke Team.
Harriet White
We met Harriet White when she came out to Australia on a short term working visa a few years back. She spent her time here cheerfully working as a gardener.
Who would have thought she was hiding such an amazing talent?
See her paintings here.
